Raynes Park is in South West London in the London Borough of Merton, just 10 miles from central London. The arrival of the rail station in 1871 transformed Raynes Park from a largely agricultural area into sophisticated residential land development. Grand Drive in Raynes Park, with its elegant Victorian mansions was originally built as a carriage way leading to the train station.
